September 16, 2007- The 2007 Popularity Poll is now open. NALS members can vote for their favorite lilies on line!
September 16, 2007 - Pictures of the major winners at the NALS 2007 Show in Edmonton, Alberta are now on line.
September 7, 2007 - A number of pictures from Joe Nemmer have been added to the image gallery, including a number of great martagon seedlings, the orientals 'Sans Souci' and 'Muscadet', and the species L. auratum var. rubrovittatum, L. duchartrei, L. lijiangense, and L. speciousm 'Uchida'. Thank you Joe!
June 21, 2007 - The Schedules for the Board of Directors Meeting and the Committee Meetings are now available.

February 18, 2007 - A new vendor has been added to the commercial source section. Lilies from the Valley offers recycled bulbs from cut flower operations, offering the latest cut flower varieties at a greatly reduced price. Pricing ranges from $8 to $10 per dozen bulbs. They currently only ship within Canada.

February 4, 2007 - A link to a new website commemorating the lilies of Dr. Chris North (http://chrisnorthlilies.org/) has been added to the Web Links tab in the Resources section. Dr. North was a lily breeder that worked at the Scottish Horticultural Research Institute, and developed many new and unique varieties of lilies. He is best known for his asiatic hybrids involving Lilium lankongense, such as Ariadne and Peggy North. The website has a large photo gallery offering pictures of many of his hybrids, and offers an article section that includes numerous articles about the lilies of Dr. North. It also contains the images from the "Mylnefield CD", a CD offered by Dr. North. A must visit for all lily lovers!

January 8, 2008 - The speakers for the 2007 NALS show in Edmonton, Alberta have been added to the Lily Shows page. It promises to be an exciting show!


January 7, 2007 - New images have been added to the Image Gallery, including pictures from David Hercbergs from Latvia (martagons, asiatics, trumpets, and orienpets) and Riz Reyes (asiatics, orientals, and orienpets).


November 18 - The North Star Lily Society is offering an updated version of their Martagons! CD. The CD contains more than 350 photos from growers from around the world of over 150 different martagon hybrids and species, plus five articles about martagon culture. The CD is a must have for anyone interested in growing or collecting martagons. Please visit the website of the North Star Lily Society for more information and for pricing.


November 7 - NALS will hold its Winter Board Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona on January 19 & 20. All Officers, Directors, Committee Chairmen and Representatives of Regional Societies of the North American Lily Society are encouraged to attend. The meeting schedule and hotel information is available for download as a PDF file.

October 2 - The Table of Contents for the September Quarterly Bulletin has been added to the Table of Contents Page.


October 1 - Seven images of striking new double oriental lilies have been added to the Oriental Lily Gallery. The images are courtesy of the hybridizer, JC de Looff.

August 1 - The Popularity Poll results for 2005 have been released by Barbara Holland, and they can be found on the Popularity Poll Page.


July 24 - NALS is pleased to offer the new martagon book, "Martagon Lilies" by noted martagon expert Eugene Fox. It is offered for sale on our "other publications" page in the NALS store, and it can be ordered online using a major credit card (accepted through Paypal).

This wonderful book relates the decades of martagon experience that Fox has, and provides in-depth coverage of martagon species and hybrids, growing, hybridizing, diseases and pests, and showing. It is a must have book for all lily growers.


July 23 - Gerry Danen has moved the online lily register to its own domain, http://www.lilyregister.com. Be sure to visit the site to see the improvements being made, including the ability to upload pictures to the register.


July 22 - The 2006 NALS Show was a great success, and pictures of the show winners have been uploaded to the image gallery.


July 22 - The new Officers and Directors have been added to the Officers and Directors page. The new Directors are Bob Gilman, Michael Homick, Barbara Small, and Nigel Strohman. The new Executive Secretary is Stephanie Sims.


July 10 - The Contents of the June Quarterly Bulletin have been added to the QB table of content page.


July 6 - A Lilium bibliography page has been added to the resource section. The bibliography is a work in process, so please email a citation for any lilium books that are not included so they can be added.


June 25 - A number of new species have been added to the species gallery, including L. michauxii (courtesy of Charles Kroell), L. mackliniae - pink form, L. davidii and L. namum var. flavidum (courtesy of Chris Callard).

June 20 - A superb new book about martagons has been published by E. Eugne Fox, entitled 'Martagon Lilies'. This wonderful book relates the decades of martagon experience that Fox has, and provides in-depth coverage of martagon species and hybrids, growing, hybridizing, diseases and pests, and showing. It is a must have book for all lily growers.


June 10 - Gerry Danen has added an electronic version of the RHS Lily Register to his site (http://www.lily-gallery.com/register/). It includes full search capabilities, and the ability to upload pictures. He is also making the data downloadable, so you can access the information offline. It is a great resource!

June 1 - A new article has been added to the Publication Samples Page, 'A First Experience with Embryo Culture at Home'. It is an excellent introduction to embryo rescue, with excellent diagrams and illustrations. It is written by Charles Kroell, and is from the 1982 NALS Yearbook, pp. 87-95.
